Haskap in Toronto at the Royal Fair 2013

Hundreds enjoyed Ontario Haskap products at the Royal Agricultural Fair in Toronto, November 2013. This is the second year at the Fair for Haskap in Ontario, with a large following of Haskap lovers coming to try the latest in Haskap!
Boreal Berry Farm and Winery brought some new products this year, a new Haskapple Juice and a Haskap Syrup.
 

North America's Original Haskap - Ontario HoneyBlue

Did you know the first commercial Haskap products in North America were produced in Ontario? Ontario's rich fertile soils and fruit growing tradition produces a sweet, intense Haskap berry, the Ontario HoneyBlue. In 2011 Ontario HoneyBlue products were launched, with a great reception by taste testers all over Ontario!

Haskap Berries

  We get asked often how to tell when Haskap is ready to pick, here are some tips!
- easily detached from stem by shaking bush
- the outer blue color is not an indicator of ripeness, unripe berries are blue, but taste sour or bitter (or a combination!)
- a ripe Haskap berry has sweet intense flavor with solid purple interior
